'NCIS: Tony & Ziva' Season 1: Premiere date, time, cast, where to watch
One of TV's most beloved "will they or won't they" pairs is starring in a new spinoff.
"NCIS" alum Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are returning to the small screen as Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo and Ziva David in the Paramount+ series "NCIS: Tony & Ziva," putting front and center the characters and their complex lives since they left the original team.
The latest title in the "NCIS" franchise follows Tony and (the very much alive) Ziva as they co-parent their daughter, Tali (Isla Gie), in Paris. When Tony's security company faces an attack from unknown malicious forces, the family goes on the run across Europe while figuring out who is after them, according to Paramount.
‘NCIS’: Michael Weatherly & Cote de Pablo Name Favorite Episodes Ahead of ‘Tony & Ziva’ Premiere (VIDEO)
Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are back as Tony and Ziva in the latest NCIS spinoff, premiering on Paramount+ on Thursday, September 4, with the first three episodes. And so when we spoke with them at San Diego Comic-Con in TV Insider and TV Guide Magazine’s studio, we had to ask them their favorite episodes ahead of NCIS: Tony & Ziva.
De Pablo’s first is a very memorable one for the two, early in their partnership (she joined the cast that season): “Under Covers” (Season 3 Episode 8). “There’s a lot of romance,” she said, but Weatherly disagreed, “I don’t think there’s any romance in that.” (The episode saw them undercover as a couple.) The next pick is one that was only a few after that, “Boxed In,” and he shared a behind-the-scenes tidbit about his costar, revealing she’d forgotten her ear protection.

TV Talk: ‘NCIS’ spins off into streaming with ‘Tony & Ziva’

Trib Total Media TV writer Rob Owen offers a viewing tip for the coming week.
“NCIS” fans were disappointed when Ziva David (2000 Carnegie Mellon University grad Cote de Pablo) exited the series in 2013, bereft when the show killed Ziva off-screen in absentia and surprised and relieved to see her return, alive, for episodes in 2016.
Ziva and sparring partner/love interest Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) always gave the show some of its lighter and more romantic moments, so it’s unsurprising to see them return in a 10-episode, spinoff streaming series, “NCIS: Tony & Ziva,” debuting Sept. 4 on Paramount+. (New episodes drop weekly on Thursdays through Oct. 23.)
