Morgan Gibbs-White joins Nottingham Forest for training camp in Portugal amid Tottenham interest – The Athletic
Morgan Gibbs-White has flown out to Portugal to join the Nottingham Forest training camp.
The attacking midfielder did not initially join up with the rest of the squad when they flew out on Monday but has done so after being allowed extra time at home because of a private family matter.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are preparing for friendly games against Fulham on Saturday and Estoril on Wednesday.
Gibbs-White has found himself at the centre of a transfer wrangle with Tottenham, after the London club made a £60million bid for Forest’s most important player on July 10.
Forest were frustrated that Spurs’ bid happened to precisely match a confidential release clause in Gibbs-White’s contract and that they had not given their permission for talks to proceed with the player.

Despite Ange Postecoglou’s gamble to secure Champions League football paying off, the Australian head coach was sacked, paving the way for Brentford’s impressive Thomas Frank to come in and take the reins. Yet, the north Londoners have done little to capitalise on the allure of the Champions League so far in the window when it comes to bringing in top quality players.

Tottenham Hotspur are disappointed that they have been unable to get the deal over the line for Morgan Gibbs-White even though the Nottingham Forest star has remained adamant that he wants to head to Hotspur Way despite his current employers' preference being for him to join Manchester City, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has given new head coach Thomas Frank the green light to spend big on attacking reinforcements, resulting in £55million being forked out to land Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United, and the north Londoners are in the market for further fresh faces as preparations are made for the new season.
