Pickens on CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, Brian Schottenheimer and 'fresh air' with Cowboys

OXNARD, Calif. — George Pickens is in a much different boat going into 2025, literally and figuratively speaking. Fresh off of a summer bonding trip with All-Pro quarterback Dak Prescott and other teammates that involved fishing, jet skiing and the like, the newly-acquired highlight creator now enters his first-ever Dallas Cowboys' training camp surrounded by weapons — having started his career for a Pittsburgh Steelers club that was mostly unsettled at quarterback.

Instantly embraced by Prescott and All-Pro record-setting wideout CeeDee Lamb, as well as the coaching staff, front office and the entirety of the locker room, Pickens is leaning into what he views as a fresh start to his young NFL career.

George Pickens: CeeDee Lamb and I are 'like Mario Bros' with Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys finally found their Luigi to CeeDee Lamb's Mario.

Speaking Tuesday from training camp in Oxnard, Calif., new Cowboys receiver George Pickens compared himself and Lamb to the legendary Nintendo duo.

"Oh yeah, for sure," Pickens responded when asked if he and Lamb can be the best wideout tandem in the NFL. "Just different type of styles of play. A lot of people over the years got different styles of play, but CeeDee's a certain type of guy, then I'm a certain type of guy. So, when you mesh that together, it's like Mario Bros. We definitely can do something special."
