Fatal house fire in Glendale leaves man dead, woman in hospital
PHOENIX — A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital after a house fire broke out in Glendale on Tuesday evening, authorities said.
Firefighters from the Phoenix and Glendale fire departments were dispatched to the area of 43rd Avenue and Greenway Road for reports of a structure fire around 6 p.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
When crews arrived there was heavy flames and smoke coming from the interior of the house.
They quickly began firefighting efforts as well as search and rescue efforts.
Inside the house, firefighters found an adult male who was unconscious and not breathing. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

During the search, firefighters found a man "unconscious and not breathing."
Officials say the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman was also taken to a hospital for minor burn injuries.

Firefighters on the scene of a deadly Phoenix house fire
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead and a woman has minor burns after a house fire in Phoenix near the Glendale border on Tuesday evening.
Crews were called out to a house near 47th Avenue and Cactus Road around 6 p.m. When they arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.
While firefighters searched the house, they found the body of a 29-year-old man in the garage area, Phoenix Fire Capt. Todd Keller said. The woman was taken to the hospital because of her burns. A third person lived at the home and was OK.
Keller said it’s unclear where in the house the fire started or how the fire started. The house is a total loss.
