How to watch Tigers vs Pirates: TV, streaming and pitching matchup
The Detroit Tigers finally snapped their six-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Sunday, July 20. Now they're heading to Pittsburgh looking to start a winning streak.
The Tigers (60-40) will play a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates (39-61) from Monday, July 21, through Wednesday. The Tigers are in first place in the American League Central standings, holding an 11-game lead over the second-place Cleveland Guardians.
Meanwhile, the Pirates are in last place in the National League Central standings, 20½ games behind the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers, both tied atop the division.
Despite the team's season-long six-game losing streak, the Tigers have MLB's best record and are the first team to reach 60 wins in the 2025 season. This is the team's best start to a season through its first 100 games since starting 60-40 in 2007 − however, that team finished 88-74 and missed the playoffs.
