GTA 6's latest trailer has made fans increasingly desperate

Grand Theft Auto VI may not be arriving this year, but I’d say that Rockstar Games has been rather generous as of late.

The reveal of the game’s delay came alongside the arrival of its actual release date, 26 May 2026, both of which were shortly followed by the release of GTA VI’s second trailer and the launch of the game’s website featuring tons of screenshots and information.

Yes, we may still be waiting on unedited gameplay and pre-order information, but we’re not doing too bad for ourselves.

Honestly, I can’t see Rockstar Games dropping anything new any time soon; marketing will likely ramp up at the end of the year or in early 2026.

I Feel Like We're Ignoring That GTA 6 Mostly Looks Great Because Of The Lighting

Grand Theft Auto 6 is being hyped as the pinnacle of games, even though it won’t launch until next year at the earliest. Rockstar will have gone 13 years between GTA releases by the time 6 launches, and that has led to fan expectations that are roughly as grandiose as ‘GTA 6 will cure cancer’. The game does look great. But as I study the footage, screenshots, and GIFs we've seen of GTA 6 so far, I'm more impressed with it as a work of art direction than as a straight graphical showcase. GTA 6 looks moody as heck, and that's down to Rockstar's evocative lighting.

Did The 2nd GTA VI Trailer Live Up To The Hype?

Rockstar Games has set the bar so high in the gaming world that even their subpar releases and ideas are still miles ahead of most of the competition. I’m old enough to remember when GTA 3 was around, and that felt like a gaming Big Bang.

I’d say it was still the most innovative game in the whole series, but that’s not to say Vice City and San Andreas also didn’t take the standard to a whole new dimension. So, has the second trailer left us pining for more, or has it left us feeling a tad underwhelmed?
