Adel funeral home operator arrested on child sex charges
ADEL, Ga. (WALB) — A multi-agency operation led to the arrest of a South Georgia funeral home operator on a number of felony child sex charges.
The Adel Police Department (APD) says Stanley Henderson’s charges include two counts of felony computer pornography, two counts of felony enticing a child for indecent purposes, one count of felony child molestation, two counts of felony aggravated sexual battery, one count of felony trafficking of persons for labor or sexual servitude, and one misdemeanor count of engaging in a funeral business without required compliance.
The investigation started in June after Adel police received a tip that Henderson was running his funeral home without proper credentials, including not having a valid city business license. As part of that investigation, Adel police say they executed a search warrant and confiscated multiple electronic devices.

A deputy was arrested on a simple battery-family violence charge on Friday, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
