WASHINGTON (TNND) — As anger mounts over the Trump administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, Democrats are capitalizing on internal tensions within the MAGA movement. Attorney General Pam Bondi, facing criticism from Trump supporters, made her first public appearance since the controversy erupted over the past week, but declined to address questions about Epstein.
"Nothing about Epstein, not going to talk about Epstein," Bondi replied as reporters tried to ask questions about the controversy.
The backlash against Bondi intensified after the Department of Justice released a memo last week, essentially declaring the Epstein case closed. Epstein, a wealthy financier and convicted sex trafficker, died in prison in what was ruled a suicide. The backlash reportedly led FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino to consider resigning after disagreements with Bondi.
