Neillsville woman sentenced for altering or forging lottery tickets

CLARK COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – A Neillsville, Wis. woman is sentenced for altering or forging lottery tickets.

The court finds 26-year-old Hope Johnson guilty due to guilty plea on one count of lottery-alter/forge ticket. The remaining charges are dismissed but read in.

Online court records show Johnson is sentenced to probation for two years.

Online court records also show a probation review hearing is scheduled for Oct. 8, 2025.

According to the criminal complaint, a BP gas station had an around $9,000 shortage for the month of August 2024. The same employee, Johnson, had been working when the lottery shortages were. She had also started working alone and the high dollar shortages appear to have happened on days where Johnson was working alone between August 21, 2024, and August 26, 2024.

Neillsville woman charged with altering lottery tickets enters plea

CLARK COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – A Neilsville woman charged with altering or forging lottery tickets entered a plea Monday.

Hope Johnson, 26, pleaded guilty to one charge of altering or forging a lottery ticket. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail and two years of probation. Should she violate the terms of her probation, she will have to serve 80 more days in jail.

As part of her plea agreement, five other charges were dismissed but considered during her sentencing.

Mass. State Lottery winner: Same gas station sells 2 winning ‘Mass Cash’ tickets

Among the three $100,000 winning tickets pulled in the Massachusetts State Lottery Thursday, two of them were sold the same gas station.

The Speedway at 1 Progress St. in Seekonk sold two winning “Mass Cash" tickets in the July 3 drawing of the game, according to the lottery.

The other $100,000 ticket was sold at Dudley Food Mart in Dorchester.

Overall, at least 710 prizes worth $600 or more were won or claimed in Massachusetts on Thursday, including 16 in Springfield, 23 in Worcester and 57 in Boston.

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.
