There’s a perfect storm at Silverstone – but one would hope only in the purely metaphorical sense. The combination of circuit layout, track temperatures and wind conditions have presented us with a Grand Prix that is anyone’s for the taking.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is on the pole for Sunday’s British Grand Prix after running the course at Silverstone in 1:24.892 to fend off Oscar Piastri (1:24.995) and Lando Norris (1:25.010) for the No. 1 spot. A second-place finisher at the 2024 British Grand Prix, Verstappen is running third to both Piastri and Norris in the F1 driver standings going into the weekend while seeking out his third race win of the season.
