Colorado Rockies game no. 85 thread: Colton Gordon vs. Chase Dollander

The Rockies welcome the AL West-leading Houston Astros to Coors Field.

Tonight, the Houston Astros (50-34) will play the Colorado Rockies (19-65) in the first of a three-game series at Coors Field.

The Rockies’ 8-32 (.200) record at Coors Field is the worst home record in the Majors and tied for the worst start at home for a team in the Modern Era, joining the 2003 Tigers. It’s the fourth time in the Modern Era a team has lost at least 32 of 40 home games in any span.

Although the Rockies’ record had received considerable attention this season, also worth noting is this: The Rockies have gone 203 consecutive games allowing at least one run, the longest streak without a shutout in the Modern Era. They have surpassed the St. Louis Browns, who previously held the 199-game record between 1939-40. Prior to this, the Rockies’ previous franchise record was 169 games from April 5, 1993-April 13, 1994.

Tony Vitello Era Tennessee Baseball Star Has Career Game in MLB

Jordan Beck, also known as Mike Honcho, had his most complete game yet as an MLB hitter on Tuesday.

The former Tony Vitello Era Tennessee baseball outfielder went 5-for-5 at the plate for the Colorado Rockies. This included a roped double and a run scored. Beck entered the day without a four-hit or better game in his career. Getting all the way to five knocks made him the second player for the Rockies (Ezequiel Tovar) to do so this season, according to Guerilla Sports.

However, this wasn’t enough to push the Rockies over the Houston Astros, with Colorado dropping the game 6-5.
