Massive emergency response at Cross Keys Airport in Gloucester County after reports of plane down

WILLIAMSTOWN, N.J (WPVI) — At least five people were rushed to the hospital after a single-engine plane went down on Wednesday in Gloucester County, New Jersey.

The call came in around 5:30 p.m. for an emergency at Cross Keys Airport, which is located on the 1500 block of North Tuckahoe Road in Williamstown.

The view from Chopper 6 showed a large response with some individuals being taken away on stretchers.

Action News has learned there were 14 people on board the plane.

Officials say at least five people were being rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. There was no word on their conditions.

Crews respond to reported small plane crash in Monroe Township, NJ

Multiple people were injured after a skydiving plane crashed in Monroe Township, New Jersey, officials said.

The small plane — which had approximately 15 people on board — crashed near the Cross Keys Airport on Tuckahoe Road early Wednesday evening, according to Gloucester County Emergency Management.

Officials said multiple people were hurt and the pilot of the plane is currently being extricated. Officials have not yet revealed the victims' conditions.

Small plane crashes at Cross Keys Airport in Williamstown, New Jersey

A small plane crashed near Cross Keys Airport in Williamstown, New Jersey, on Wednesday, the Gloucester County Office of Emergency Management said. The office is calling the crash a "mass casualty incident."

Chopper 3 was over the scene where the crash appeared to happen in a wooded area near the airport located on North Tuckahoe Road in Gloucester County. 

The airport is privately owned and serves many private passenger planes, and it's also a popular place to take skydiving lessons.
