Gender row boxer Imane Khelif told she should RETURN Olympic gold medal after controversial Paris 2024 triumph

IMANE KHELIF should be ordered to return her Olympic gold medal, according to the amateur boxing boss who blew the whistle on her gender row.

The 26-year-old battered four girls on her way to the top of the Paris podium last summer.

But the IBA – formerly known as AIBA – revealed in the middle of her controversial run they had banned her from their 2023 world championships following a chromosome test.

Russia-funded IBA – which lost it’s IOC recognition in 2023 over allegations of corruption – has since been replaced by World Boxing, who have introduced mandatory sex tests.

And new IOC president Kirsty Coventry announced plans for a working group to safeguard the female category.

Boxing chief makes fresh Imane Khelif allegation amid praise for Donald Trump

IBA president Umar Kremlev has demanded that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) strip Algerian boxer Imane Khelif of her Olympic gold medal and apologize to the other athletes.

Khelif, 26, caused outrage last summer when she triumphed in the women's 63kg boxing division in Paris, having reportedly failed a gender eligibility test in 2023. Among those to scorn her was U.S. President Donald Trump, who wrongly claimed that Khelif was a "male" fighter who had "transitioned" after "brutalizing his female opponent" to win the gold medal.

The boxer has since hit back at the 79-year-old U.S. president by vowing that she will not be "intimidated" by his transgender policies in America ahead of next year's Olympics, although she has since suffered a major setback after being denied entry into this month's Eindhoven Box Cup due to mandatory sex testing.

Imane Khelif delivers strong message after unveiling new IOC rules to "protect female olympians"

The new president of the International Olympic Committee [IOC] revealed new rules that could harm them if she does not comply.

Imane Khelif became history after winning gold in the women's 66kg category at the 2024 Paris Olympics after beating Italy's Angela Carini.

However, the Algerian became embroiled in controversy when her gender eligibility was called into question. She is not transgender, but reports of hormone levels exceeded the established limits. In addition, it came to light that the International Boxing Association [IBA] had disqualified her from the World Championships in 2023.

As a result, the president of the International Boxing Association went so far as to request that Khelif return the medal and have her title stripped. However, the new president of the International Olympic Committee [IOC], Kirsty Coventry, confirmed that the 26-year-old will retain her title.
