Unseasonally warm temps continue in the Phoenix area

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The high pressure that established itself over much of the Desert Southwest this weekend continues to bring us unseasonally warm temperatures.

In the meantime, a rather weak cutoff is spinning off the coast of southern California. That disturbance will begin to move toward Arizona later today.

We’ll see a transitional-type weather pattern with more clouds, breezes and a few showers in the mountains.

Any chance of rain is very low. The disturbance will also usher in some cooler air for the end of the week, with temperatures running well below normal through the weekend.

Expect Valley highs in the 90s today and tomorrow, but dropping into the mid-80s for Thursday through the weekend.

Arizona weather forecast: Warmer, dry Tuesday in Phoenix

A storm system will arrive overnight, bringing light showers to northern and eastern Arizona. The Valley will wake up to a warmer Wednesday. FOX 10's Erica Horvatin has the latest forecast.

Tuesday was a warmer than normal day across Arizona, with high temperatures reaching the low 90s in the Valley, and the 70s and low 80s in the high country.

Clouds started moving into Arizona during the afternoon, and cloud cover will increase overnight. Temperatures will stay warmer, thanks to the clouds, with lows in the upper 60s in the Valley.

A low pressure system will move inland from the Pacific Wednesday through Thursday, bringing clouds and even some rain showers. The Valley could see a few sprinkles Wednesday morning and midday, but it is unlikely that the Valley will see any measurable rainfall.

MOST ACCURATE FORECAST: Slight chance of spotty showers across Arizona

PHOENIX — High pressure is warming temperatures back into the upper 80s to low 90s through the middle of the week.

But, we're also tracking a weak storm system approaching our state.

Clouds are moving in ahead of it and we may even see a few spotty rain showers over the next 24 hours.

Winds will get breezy on Wednesday as that storm system passes through. Look for peak gusts near 20 mph in the Valley and 25 mph across northern Arizona.

Those winds will usher in some cooler air, dropping Valley temperatures down into the low to mid 80s for the end of the week.
