WDSU Chief Meteorologist Devon Lucie arrested on Domestic Abuse charges
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Devon Lucie, the chief meteorologist for WDSU 6 News, was arrested early Sunday morning in Marrero following a reported domestic abuse and child endangerment.
Lucie, 48, was taken into custody by Jefferson Parish deputies on Oct. 5, at 1:22 a.m. He faces charges of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, a felony under state law, which falls under Gwenâs Law, and resisting an officer by refusing to identify, a misdemeanor under state law.
According to the preliminary information from the sheriffâs office, deputies responded to a residence in Marrero for a disturbance complaint. A woman at the scene told deputies she had been physically assaulted by Lucie, her dating partner of four years.

NEW ORLEANS â The Chief Meteorologist at WDSU has been arrested following an altercation with a girlfriend.
According to Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office arrest records, Devon Lucie was arrested on a charge of Domestic Abuse with a child under 13 present. Few details are available about the situation that led to his arrest. He was booked in the Jefferson Parish Jail on Sunday.
WDSU would not comment on the arrest, but according to the station's website, "Lucie has been placed on leave pending the investigation."
In August, Lucie was named WDSUâs Chief Meteorologist. He joined their weather team in 2021 and succeeded longtime Chief Meteorologist Margaret Orr, who retired in 2024 after 45 years with WDSU.
