Joe Davis Returns to Dodgers NLCS Booth After Losing His Voice
Fox play-by-play broadcaster Joe Davis is returning from the “injured list” on Sunday, Oct. 11th, calling Game 1 of the NLCS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Fox Sports PR announced that Davis will indeed be on the call for Game 1, marking a return to the booth after missing two dates.
Davis missed Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS between the Dodgers and Atlanta Braves after feeling under the weather and losing his voice.
Kenny Albert stepped in for Davis as the play-by-play broadcaster for Game 3, while Atlanta Braves announcer Brandon Gaudin filled in for Game 4.
He is Fox’s top baseball play-by-play man, pairing with lead analyst John Smoltz.
FOX's Joe Davis makes 'worst call in history' as MLB fans slam Dodgers announcer
Joe Davis was still setting the scene for viewers when the Dodgers’ night went sideways, and baseball fans have not let him forget it.
The FOX play-by-play voice was giving his opening remarks before Game 3 of the NLCS on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium when Milwaukee’s Jackson Chourio ambushed the first pitch of the game.
Chourio sent a 98-mph fastball from Blake Snell into the right-field seats for a 1-0 Brewers lead. Davis was caught mid-intro, stumbled over his words, and delivered a call that fans quickly labeled one of the worst in recent memory. It comes after the Dodgers were blasted over absurd food prices and 'AI slop' for the NLDS opener.
