TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) — Teller County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) has issued a shelter-in-place order for Westwood Lakes Subdivision after two troopers were shot during a traffic stop.
TCSO says this morning two Colorado State Trooper vehicles on US 24 near Crystola were shot at by an unknown white male. One trooper faces serious injuries, and the other minor injuries, according to law enforcement.
Colorado State Patrol confirms that the troopers were conducting a traffic stop around 7:15 a.m. on Highway 24 west of Woodland Park.
The suspect, described by TCSO as having brownish-tinted hair and driving a blue Subaru Impreza hatchback with license plates not visible through tinted covers, is expected to be in the area of Westwood Lakes and Woodland West, possibly on foot.
