Crews from NIPSCO were working again in Schererville on Thursday afternoon after a fire occurred on an electrical pole. Power lines were knocked down and transformers blew after the fire, leaving more than 9,000 customers without power in Schererville, St. John, Dyer, Highland and multiple other communities.
