Walker (right knee inflammation) out of lineup again as precaution
NEW YORK — Cardinals right fielder Jordan Walker was not in the starting lineup for the second consecutive game against the Yankees on Wednesday, a 3-1 Cards win, because of right knee inflammation.
The second day off was more of a precaution. The Cardinals are not playing on Thursday, so the team is hoping Walker’s knee will be better by Friday against the Rockies at Busch Stadium. Before Tuesday’s 2-0 loss to New York, Walker was a late scratch and wasn’t able to come off the bench. Manager Oliver Marmol said Walker is listed as day to day.
