Nike employees, manager among 12 indicted in alleged $2M cargo theft ring tied to Memphis logistics center
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Twelve people are facing federal indictments for their alleged roles in an organized cargo theft conspiracy targeting Nike’s logistics center in Memphis.
According to the U.S. attorney’s office for the Western District of Tennessee, the group allegedly worked from July 2021 to about June 19, 2024, to steal and ship Nike products across the country. Prosecutors say the defendants stole at least $2 million in merchandise.
Investigators allege the suspects identified items they wanted to resell, located the products inside the warehouse and placed shipping labels addressed to predetermined locations around the U.S. Other suspects would then retrieve and resell the goods, according to the indictment.
