How influencer marketing works in Indonesia: platforms, pricing, and campaign strategy

Indonesia is not a market where Western influencer playbooks transfer cleanly. It is the fourth most populous country in the world, home to over 1.1 million Instagram influencers, and the most performance-oriented influencer market in all of Asia-Pacific. For brands used to awareness-first campaigns with glossy production, Indonesia requires a fundamentally different posture.

This guide covers what the data actually says about Indonesia's influencer landscape in 2026: which platforms dominate, which content styles convert, what creators charge, and how to structure campaigns that produce results rather than reach.

Indonesia is the most advanced market in Asia-Pacific for outcome-focused influencer campaigns. According to AnyMind Group's State of Influence in APAC 2026 report, 74% of influencer campaigns in Indonesia are now designed with measurable performance outcomes in mind, higher than any other market across the ten covered in the research.

BBDO India's Jitender Dabas: Not every creator is an influencer, and brands may be confusing the two

In an era where brands are aggressively shifting budgets towards creator partnerships, the advertising and marketing industry may be operating on a flawed premise: that every creator is an influencer.

According to Jitender Dabas, CEO of BBDO Group India, we may have become too loose with the word "influencer", often confusing people who attract large audiences with those who genuinely shape consumer decisions.

"Not every creator is an influencer and not everybody watching a video is a follower," Dabas told Storyboard18.

For him, the distinction is fundamental. Brands need to first decide whether they are paying for a creator's ability to generate views or their ability to influence behaviour.

The $5M risk that could spell huge trouble for Meghan Markle’s business: report

Meghan Markle’s As Ever brand could be facing a $5 million jam if the royal doesn’t find a way to offload her stocked items before they go out of date, a new report claims.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, is looking at a deadline of next summer’s end to move all of her jams, teas and flower sprinkles jars before they’re no longer sellable, per Daily Mail.

With the loss of the jams alone, Markle could be facing a $5 million profit loss. The flower sprinkle jars could push that number even higher by another million.

The “With Love, Meghan” host’s overstock issue dates back to another risky decision she made last year when she chose to rapidly expand her business shortly after seeing some success with her As Ever launch.
