‘The loss feels immeasurable’: Family speaks about loved ones who died in Idaho plane crash

NAMPA, Idaho — Brandon and Jestene LeRoy and their son, Paxton LeRoy, died in a plane crash in Nampa on Sunday evening. Brandon’s cousin, Jeremiah LeRoy, said the family is heartbroken.

In a statement to KTVB, Jeremiah said, “The loss feels immeasurable. To say we miss them doesn’t come close.”

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash that occurred on Sunday. The family departed from the Nampa airport around 5:40 p.m., and the crash happened at approximately 5:41 p.m., according to the Nampa Police Department. The plane was only in the air for about two miles before crashing near Venice St. in Nampa, into an unoccupied outbuilding.

The Coroner's Office was called to the scene after life-saving measures were unsuccessful. Both Jestene and Brandon Leroy were pronounced dead at the scene, having sustained multiple blunt force injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:41 p.m. in the 200 block of N. Venice Street, where the aircraft struck an unoccupied outbuilding in a residential neighborhood. Fortunately, no injuries were reported on the ground.
