The Vegas Golden Knights fired coach Bruce Cassidy on Sunday and turned to John Tortorella to replace him.

VEGAS (March 29, 2026) – Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today, March 29, the following changes to the team’s coaching staff: Bruce Cassidy has been relieved of his duties and John Tortorella has been named the team’s head coach.

The Vegas Golden Knights are making a shocking late-season change behind the bench.
Vegas fired head coach Bruce Cassidy on Sunday and named John Tortorella his replacement.
Cassidy, 60, has served as the Golden Knights' head coach since 2022-23, when he guided the organization to a Stanley Cup title.
But with Vegas underperforming expectations in 2025-26, it decided to move on for the run to the playoffs.
