Roy Cooper brings 'Make Stuff Cost Less' tour to Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Former North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, now the Democratic nominee for an open U.S. Senate seat in North Carolina, stopped in Asheville on Wednesday as part of his "Make Stuff Cost Less" tour, focusing on rising utility costs that he says are straining families and small businesses across the state.

Speaking at RAD Brewing Company, Cooper outlined a series of proposals he said he would pursue in the U.S. Senate to lower energy costs, including requiring large data centers to pay the full cost of their power use and encouraging major tech companies to generate their own energy.
