Celtics 114-93 Rockets (Feb 4, 2026) Game Recap

HOUSTON — — Derrick White made six 3-pointers and scored 28 points and the Boston Celtics used a big third quarter to build the lead and cruise to a 114-93 win over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

White’s performance helped the Celtics win a fourth straight game despite missing star Jaylen Brown, who sat out with left hamstring tightness in the second game of a back-to-back.

Houston coach Ime Udoka was ejected at the end of the third quarter after receiving a double technical for arguing with officials, and Alperen Sengun was tossed midway through the fourth after receiving two technical fouls for yelling at an official following a no-call.

Ime Udoka calls out Rockets after ‘embarrassing’ loss to Celtics

The Celtics came into Houston undermanned and overworked on Wednesday night, but that didn’t stop them from pulling off one of their most impressive wins of the year.

Boston played without Jaylen Brown, Sam Hauser and a soon-to-be-traded Anfernee Simons while starting a two-way forward in Ron Harper Jr. and still cruised to a 114-93 blowout win with six different players scoring in double figures against a rested Rockets squad.

Frustrations boiled up for Houston all night as both Ime Udoka and Alperin Seguin were ejected in the second half as the game got out of the hand. Those frustrations continued after the game when former Celtics coach Ime Udoka lit up his Rockets team for the performance.

Celtics-Rockets recap: Short-handed C's dominate in Houston

The Boston Celtics were severely short-handed on the second night of a back-to-back against a tough Houston Rockets team on Wednesday night. It didn't matter.

Without Jaylen Brown (hamstring/knee), Sam Hauser (thumb), and Anfernee Simons (reported trade), the C's cruised to a 114-93 win at the Toyota Center. Derrick White stepped up in their absence with a game-high 28 points and eight assists.

Ron Harper Jr. also delivered for the C's in his first NBA start with 11 points and nine rebounds. Payton Pritchard had another nice night off the bench with 27 points.

The C's will go for five straight wins when they host the Miami Heat on Friday night.
