Does new Lucasfilm President Dave Filoni dislike Andor?
Since Disney acquired Lucasfilm and relaunched the Star Wars franchise a decade ago, audiences have been treated to a wide range of films and TV series—with mixed results. While some have fared better than others, most fans would agree that Andor stands out as one of the strongest projects of the Disney era. However, tucked away in a recent report from The Wrap is a surprising detail: new Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni reportedly wasn’t impressed with Andor.
The report mentions that Andor was the greatest creative triumph of Kathleen Kennedy’s tenure at Lucasfilm, but “according to an individual who worked inside Lucasfilm, [It was] a series that Filoni disliked.” Keep in mind, this is an anonymous comment and shouldn’t be taken as gospel, but fans are already afraid that it’s indicative of the direction the franchise will take under Filoni.
Comments for Dave Filoni Reportedly Doesn’t Like ‘Andor,’ Sparking Concern Over ‘Star Wars’ Future
i’m a OG fan – Saw Star Wars in theatres when it was *just* Star Wars, and have enjoyed or ignored various incarnations of the franchise with an attitude of ‘to each our own’. I think ANDOR is a masterpiece (and I was incredibly cynical when it was announced) and while I adore some of Dave’s offerings (Rebels, Clone Wars) I fear that Star Wars will become the Filoniverse – incredibly small and more incestuous than a sibling kiss.

Dave Filoni’s Negative Feelings About ‘Andor’ Are Raising Red Flags for ‘Star Wars’ Fans
Dave Filoni has officially been named co-president of Lucasfilm, a promotion that places one of Star Wars’ most influential modern creatives at the top of the studio. The appointment, however, has landed unevenly with fans following renewed attention on Filoni’s reported feelings toward Andor, one of the franchise’s most critically acclaimed recent projects.
The reaction highlights a growing divide within the fan base over what Star Wars should look like in its next phase — and whether the studio’s new leadership will narrow or expand its creative range.
The Disney+ era of Star Wars has produced mixed results. The Mandalorian debuted to widespread enthusiasm, but later seasons and spinoffs struggled to replicate that early momentum.
