LOS ANGELES – As the nation awaits the winner of the $570 million Powerball jackpot, two people in California may be $600,000 richer.
According to California Lottery's website on Saturday night, two tickets, each worth $609,497, were sold within the state. One ticket was sold at a Rotten Robbie in San Jose and a second ticket was sold at a One Stop Liquor in Pacheco.
This comes as a drawing was held for the then-jackpot of $546 million. Below were the winning numbers for the Nov. 15 drawing, which apparently no one got all six:
Powerball Jackpot Reaches $570 Million—Here’s How Much a Winner Could Take Home After Taxes
The Powerball jackpot climbed to $570 million after no winners were drawn on Saturday night, but the eventual winner will take home substantially less after taxes.
No tickets were sold matching all six winning numbers (6, 7, 12, 47, 53 and Powerball number 21) on Saturday, so the jackpot grew again before the next drawing on Monday night.
If a ticket is sold matching all numbers, the winner will choose between receiving $570 million paid out in 30 annualized installments, or taking a lump sum payout of $266.9 million immediately.
If the winner takes the lump sum, the much more popular option, they would immediately face a 24% federal withholding tax, which would cut their payout down to $202.8 million.

Powerball for Monday, Nov. 17, $570 million after $980 million Mega Millions win
Will a $2 ticket make you a multimillionaire? As they say in the lottery business, “it could happen to you.”
After no one matched all five numbers plus the Powerball in the Saturday, Nov. 15, Powerball drawing for $546 million, the jackpot jumped close to $575 million for Monday, Nov. 17.
The current jackpot has since rolled over 28 times after resetting to $20 million on Sept. 8, when a pair of tickets from Fredericksburg, Texas, and St. Louis, Missouri, won the $1.787 billion Powerball drawing on Sept. 6.
And in Mega Millions news, one ticket from Georgia matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball to win a whopping $980 million on Friday, Nov. 14. That Mega Millions jackpot rose on the all-time largest Mega Millions jackpot list and was so close to $1 billion. The jackpot reset to $50 million for Tuesday, Nov. 18.
