HOUSTON — We have a big update in the death of Texas A&M student Brianna Aguilera. Brianna died after falling from the 17th floor of an Austin apartment after tailgating for the Texas A&M-Texas football game in November.

At a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Houston attorney Tony Buzbee announced he’s representing Brianna’s parents, Stephanie Rodriguez and Manuel Aguilera, in a lawsuit against Austin Blacks Rugby and UT Latin Economics and Business Association.

The allegations in the lawsuit are that Brianna – a minor — was overserved while tailgating. Buzbee said other minors were also overserved.

Brianna Aguilera’s family, lawyers hold press conference in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – The parents of Brianna Aguilera, the 19-year-old Texas A&M University student who died after falling from a high-rise apartment late last year in Austin, held a press conference in Houston with their lawyers.

Attorney Tony Buzbee planned to “release pertinent details regarding the investigation surrounding the death of Brianna Aguilera,” according to a news release.

“The investigation remains open, despite the Austin Police Department’s previous comments to the contrary,” Buzbee said. “We have expended substantial resources on this matter and will continue to do so until the family has the answers they deserve.”

In December, days after their daughter’s death, the Aguilera family retained the Buzbee and Gamez Law Firms to represent them.
