When Does ‘Today With Jenna & Sheinelle’ Start? What to Know About Sheinelle Jones’ Cohosting Gig

Jenna Bush Hager has a permanent cohost on the fourth hour of Today.

In December 2025, the Today With Jenna & Friends host announced that Sheinelle Jones would become her new cohost.

“You all know her, she’s an extraordinary broadcaster, but more importantly, she exemplifies exactly what this show is all about,” Bush Hager said of Jones.

Jones will replace the rotation of celebrity guest hosts who have worked alongside Bush Hager since Hoda Kotb’s exit from Today in January 2025.

"Just watched @jennabhager and @sheinelle_o show us what a match made in heaven looks like. So proud of you both…#proudmom," Kotb wrote via Instagram after Jones was announced as her replacement.

During the December 9 episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, Jenna Bush Hager joined Jones to celebrate her upcoming position alongside her. The new segment, titled Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, is set to debut on January 12.

“Here’s the truth of the matter, and everybody knows, God, a year ago at this time was tough for me,” Jones said on air, reflecting on the previous year when she chose to take a step back to support her husband, Uche Ojeh, during his battle with glioblastoma. “You couldn’t write this script.”

Sheinelle Jones is ready to take on her new role as co-host of Jenna and Sheinelle next year with a little inspiration from a talk show legend.

"We all have Oprah [Winfrey] on a pedestal, no one can be Oprah, why would you even want to try?" she said in an interview on "Today Show Radio" on Sirius XM. "I think the times are different now, like it's not just where you turn on [the television] at four o' clock."

Jones explained, however, that the life lessons that were emitted through Winfrey's longtime running talk show can still be shared today, no matter what platform an audience member is viewing the show.
