GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Packers will be without quarterback Jordan Love and will start backup Malik Willis on Saturday night against the Ravens.

Love was downgraded from questionable to out on Friday after he sustained a concussion in last Saturday's overtime loss to the Chicago Bears and did not clear all the required stages of the concussion protocol. Willis finished the game against the Bears but injured his right, throwing shoulder on the final play of regulation.

Both quarterbacks were limited participants in practice this week, although Willis missed a day because of an illness that has been spreading through the Packers' locker room.

NFL Announces Punishment Decision After Jordan Love Injury

Jordan Love will not be in action on Saturday as the Green Bay Packers host the Baltimore Ravens at Lambeau Field for a Week 17 matchup. The 27-year-old quarterback was ruled out for the game due to a concussion, which he sustained in the Packers’ 22-16 overtime loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Love, who finished the game with 8-of-13 completed passes for 77 yards before his early exit, suffered the head injury after taking a hit from Chicago defensive end Austin Booker. The incident happened in the second quarter, and after being initially deemed questionable to return, Love was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Packers downgrade QB Jordan Love (concussion) to out vs. Ravens; Malik Willis expected to start

The Green Bay Packers are ruling out quarterback Jordan Love for Saturday's game against the Baltimore Ravens due to his concussion, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Friday.

Both Love and Willis (shoulder/illness) were listed as questionable to play on Green Bay's initial injury report on Thursday. Love remains in concussion protocol and will miss the Week 17 game.

Green Bay clinched a playoff spot Thursday by virtue of Detroit's loss to Minnesota. A loss to Baltimore on Saturday would secure the NFC North title for the Chicago Bears.

Willis won't be the only backup quarterback to see action in Saturday's critical Week 17 game. Tyler Huntley is slated to start for the Ravens in place of Lamar Jackson, who's doubtful with a back contusion.
