Darius Acuff Jr. named SEC Freshman of the Week again, tabbed Midseason All-American
Arkansas has one of the best point guards in the country on its roster this season in Darius Acuff Jr., who was tabbed third team midseason All-American by College Hoops Today with Jon Rothstein on Monday and also won SEC Freshman of the Week for the third-straight week.
The Detroit native is averaging a team-best 18.9 points per game and dropped a game-high 27 points on No. 8 Houston on Saturday to go along with seven assists and five rebounds. Against Top 25 opponents, Acuff is averaging 20.2 points and 7.2 assists per game.
Acuff ranks second among NCAA freshmen in assists per game at 6.2 and is shooting 48.8% from the field and 43.8% from deep on 5.3 attempts per game. He‘s one of just five freshmen to shoot those numbers and is the only Razorback to score in double figures in all 12 games this season.
