STXfilms is stuffing everyone’s stockings with new character posters (posted below) for Greenland 2: Migration, the highly anticipated sequel starring Gerard Butler (300, Law Abiding Citizen, The Phantom of the Opera) and Morena Baccarin (Deadpool 2, Serenity, Elevation). Greenland 2: Migration is set to release in Indian theatres next January, with Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin returning to lead the sequel to the disaster thriller Greenland.

PVR Inox Pictures confirmed the release through an Instagram post, writing, “Apocalypse just hit the world and if it struck India, here’s how it would look like. But the end of the world was just the beginning. Greenland 2: Migration releases in cinemas on January 9.”

The original Greenland was released in 2020 and went on to earn $52.3 million at the worldwide box office. The sequel is directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune. It is produced by Thunder Road Films, Anton, G-Base, and CineMachine, and is based on characters created by Sparling, who also co-wrote the script.
