Did Memphis miss some transfers by waiting on PJ Haggerty, Dain Dainja?
Penny Hardaway’s eighth season as Memphis basketball coach is off to a horrendous start.
The Tigers (4-7) already have a four-game losing streak and are currently mired in a three-game skid.
Part of the problem is none of the 15 players on the roster this season were members of last season’s team. Further exacerbating matters, Hardaway missed out on several players he targeted in the transfer portal.
Why? Because Hardaway chose to wait for All-American guard PJ Haggerty to decide his next move and for all-conference big man Dain Dainja’s NCAA waiver request to be resolved, he said.
