Brian Walshe sentenced to life in prison for murdering his wife and dismembering her body
BREAKING: Brian Walshe sentenced to life in prison for murdering his wife
A Massachusetts man convicted of murdering his wife in 2023 and dismembering her body was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Brian Walshe, 50, was found guilty of first-degree murder on Monday, nearly three years after his wife, Anna Walshe, disappeared on New Year’s Day. She was last seen at her home in Cohasset, Massachusetts.
Prosecutors say that after the murder, partially motivated by financial gain, Walshe methodically cut up his wife's body and disposed of it in dumpsters. Walshe conducted more than a dozen Google searches during the cover-up, including "10 ways to dispose of a dead body if you really need to."
Brian Walshe gets maximum sentence for murder, dismemberment of his wife, Ana Walshe
Brian Walshe received the maximum possible sentence for the killing of his wife, Ana, in early 2023, then lying to police investigating her disappearance and disposing of her body.
Judge Diane Freniere sentenced Walshe to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder — the mandatory sentence. But she also sentenced Walshe to 19 to 20 years in prison for lying to police and two-and-a-half to three years for disposing of his wife’s body.
The sentences on the lesser counts will run consecutively to the murder charge, and concurrently to Walshe’s roughly three-year federal sentence for selling forged Andy Warhol paintings.
