Bengals' head coaching situation getting some attention around NFL
The Cincinnati Bengals have all eyes on an end-of-season stretch around the return of Joe Burrow and a possible playoff bid.
Others overlooking the NFL, though, have eyes on things beyond the playoffs, like potential coaching vacancies.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, a handful of other head coaching jobs typically open up between now and the offseason, with some wondering about the Bengals:
“Since 2011, at least five head-coaching vacancies have popped up each cycle. Right now? Only two teams have openings: the Giants and Titans. That number will go up. There are no guarantees these jobs will come open, but many around the league are asking questions about the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals, in addition to the Raiders.”
NFL insiders weigh in on Zac Taylor hot seat chatter
Is there really a chance that the Bengals part ways with head coach Zac Taylor?
The Cincinnati Bengals (4-9) are likely headed for a third-straight year of missing the playoffs, despite having one of the three best players in the game in Joe Burrow.
Zac Taylor naturally bears a good amount of the blame, as his staff has not gotten much out of the defense the last two seasons, and the offensive line has been near the bottom of the league for the majority of his tenure, even if it has stepped up this year.
Still, NFL insiders Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler aren’t confident that Taylor will be relieved of his duties following the season.

NFL insider's latest report teases a future Bengals fans hope is coming
When the Cincinnati Bengals shocked the world by knocking off the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game and punching their ticket to the Super Bowl in the 2021 season, fans saw the writing on the wall. It meant that, win or lose in the Super Bowl, the Bengals were likely going to be coached by Zac Taylor for the foreseeable future.
At the time, it might not have bothered fans that much. After all, Taylor had done the unimaginable and helped get the Bengals to a Super Bowl. Unfortunately, the team lost in that Super Bowl to the Rams and haven't been back since. They came close the next year but lost in the AFC Championship Game to the Chiefs.
