After a nearly week-long search, the body of a San Diego fisherman and popular YouTuber who went missing during a fishing excursion off the coast of Baja California, Mexico, has been found.
Mikey Rijavec of Ocean Beach was fishing eight miles off the coast on Nov. 11 when he issued a mayday call. Over the phone, fellow anglers tried to help him with the engine trouble he was having when the call suddenly ended.

San Diego-based YouTube fisherman found dead in Mexican waters
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) â A San Diego-based fisherman who runs a YouTube channel was found dead in Mexican waters after a search was initiated for him in the Baja California Sur region last week, according to his family.
The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed to ABC 10News that the Mexican Navy searched for Michael Rijavec after he went missing off the coast of Baja California while kayaking on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The Coast Guard said after it completed an initial search, the Mexican Navy took over the case.
The family initially said on GoFundMe that Rijavec had issued a mayday call from his solo skiff off the coast of Baja California at 3 p.m. on Nov. 11. The fundraiser was created to help escalate the search, including providing money for gas, pilots and additional boats and aircraft.

Body of missing YouTube fisherman from California found off coast of Mexico, family says
The body of a missing San Diego fisherman popular on YouTube was found in waters off the coast of Mexico, the manâs family said in an update on GoFundMe.
Mikey Rijavec, known for his YouTube channel SD Fish and Sips, was on a fishing trip off the coast of Baja California, Mexico, on November 11 when he made a mayday call from his solo skiff, according to a post on the GoFundMe page.
Rijavec experienced engine issues with his boat, and while attempting to fix them, the motor dislodged, causing the boat to flip, according to the GoFundMe. While he was able to upright the skiff, it had taken on water.
