WASHINGTON — Passengers were getting bused away from a United Airlines flight after all planes at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) were grounded on Tuesday.

Emergency crews could be seen parked near the flight, with officials sending a staircase truck to help passengers deplane. Reagan Airport officials confirmed the evacuation in a post on their X account.

"All flight operations are being held at Reagan National while passengers on a United Airlines flight are being offloaded and bussed to the terminal," was what Reagan Airport posted on Tuesday afternoon. "We will provide more information as it becomes available.

A security threat on board a United Airlines aircraft has led to a ground stop at Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) outside Washington, D.C., two aviation sources tell NBC News.

Passengers deboarded a United plane and were bused to the terminal, Reagan Airport said on social media.

Departures to DCA were grounded due to security, a notice from the Federal Aviation Administration said.

"The FAA is aware of a reported security issue on an aircraft at Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Passengers have been removed and the aircraft is away from the terminal while authorities investigate," the FAA said in a statement.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — All flight operations are on hold at Reagan National Airport due to a "security" threat, according to airport officials and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Officials said the threat was made against an incoming United Airlines flight.

The FAA has the hold listed as a ground stop on its website. This is the statement the federal agency put out:
