Celebrating a season to remember
It was a magical season, one that had its share of ups and downs but ended like every dream season ends.
And for those who lived the dream of winning Super Bowl XL, it's hard for them to believe it was 20 years ago that the Steelers earned their fifth Super Bowl championship in team history.
"It's wild," said linebacker Joey Porter Sr. "Twenty years. Doesn't seem like it."
And it certainly didn't seem like it when members of the Super Bowl XL team gathered at the annual Alumni Weekend Dinner to celebrate the season and the game that meant so much to them.
Bill Cowher visits Steelers: ‘I’m gonna give the boys a talk’
The Steelers had a familiar visitor this weekend: Former head coach and Super Bowl XL champion Bill Cowher made a stop in the ’Burgh Friday and Saturday on his way to Buffalo for CBS’ “The NFL Today” pregame show today.
This weekend is the Steelers’ 2005 Super Bowl team reunion game against the Colts, and although Cowher won’t be on the field, he’s still working to leave his imprint.
Cowher joined the Pat McAfee Show on Friday to talk about the big visit.
“We are playing the Indianapolis Colts this week as you know,” he said. “It’s the reunion of the 2005 Super Bowl team, so I’m going back there this afternoon. I’ll be with the boys tonight and I’m gonna give them a talk tomorrow.”
