Football Recap: Rio Linda Comes Up Short
After flying high against Natomas two weeks ago, Rio Linda came back down to earth. The Knights took a 32-13 bruising from the Casa Roble Rams on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Casa Roble to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaylan Barcenas, who rushed for 185 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and one score. With that strong performance, Barcenas is now averaging an impressive 109.4 rushing yards per game. Another passer making a difference was Aidan Lopez, who threw for 305 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes.

The loss snapped Rio Linda’s three-game winning streak and dropped their record to 3–3, while Casa Roble improved to 5–1 and extended its own win streak to four.
It was a physical contest from start to finish, and while the scoreboard didn’t go their way, the Knights continued to show grit and flashes of the offensive firepower that defined their early-season success. Rio Linda found the end zone twice thanks to hard-running efforts from Joseph Kalanui and Louis Means, who both battled through a stout Casa Roble defense that has frustrated opponents all season.
