Michael Strahan suffers injury live on air in hilarious Fox Sports broadcast fail

Michael Strahan probably thought his days of football injuries were behind him, but Julian Edelman had other ideas.

The Fox NFL broadcasting team, comprised of Strahan, Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Jay Glazer, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long and Curt Menefee, was performing a special teams demonstration on set.

Edelman – a former NFL wide receiver who played on special teams during his 11-year career with the New England Patriots – was elected as the kicker for the demo.

With Glazer acting the role of the guard, and all-time great tight end Gronkowski acting as the blocker, a sock-less Edelman kicked the football so tamely that it lacked flight.

David Ortiz checks on Michael Strahan after FOX NFL Sunday accident

David Ortiz voiced his worry for FOX NFL Sunday presenter Michael Strahan following a botched demonstration. Strahan was accompanied by Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Howie Long, Curt Menefee, Jay Glazer, and Terry Bradshaw for a live segment showing how teams have successfully blocked field goal attempts during the opening weeks of the 2025 NFL season.

Long, Gronkowski, and Strahan were told to rush through Glazer while Edelman tried to kick a field goal. The former New England Patriots player mistakenly launched the ball directly into Strahan's face, striking him in the left eye.

"Did you lose a tooth? Did you lose a tooth?" the panel questioned Strahan as he doubled over, clutching his left eye. It comes as FOX faces backlash after NFL hosts read a Mark Sanchez statement.

Michael Strahan suffers injury on Fox NFL Sunday set as attempt to run play goes wrong – 'did you lose a tooth?'

MICHAEL Strahan suffered an injury on the Fox NFL Sunday set when an attempt to run a demonstration of a play went wrong.

The panel, as they often do, took to the "practice field" within the studio to have some fun running plays.

Rob Gronkowski, Howie Long, and Michael Strahan lined up to block Julian Edelman's kick with Jay Glazer as his sole protection.

During the play, the former New England Patriots WR kicked the ball directly into the face of Strahan.

The TV personality went down clutching his face as Terry Bradshaw ran away towards the imaginary endzone with the ball.
