Lockdown at two NISD campuses while police search for suspect
SAN ANTONIO ā The lockdown has been lifted at two Northside Independent School District campuses after police say the suspect has been taken into custody.
The lock downs were on the campuses of Clark High School and Locke Hill Elementary School, located next to each other on De Zavala Road.
Barry Perez, NISD spokesman said, "A lockdown had been called for Clark HS and Locke HIll ES due to a suspicious individual outside of Clark HS."
Police with NISD tried to stop the individual after it was reported that he had a weapon. He was detained by NISD Police and they determined he did not have a weapon.
Incident reported near Clark High School: Campuses on lockdown, law enforcement on scene
SAN ANTONIO – Police have responded to a reported incident near a local high school.
Around 12:25 p.m. on Friday, police were called to a scene near Clark High School and Locale Hill Elementary School, near the corner of De Zavala Road and Vance Jackson Road.
Both Clark High School and Locke Hill Elementary School are on lockdown. According to Northside ISD: A suspicious individual in the Clark HS parking lot was pursued by NISD police.
The district says that despite rumors, they have not been able to confirm that a weapon was involved.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, they are working to assist the Northside Independent School District Police Department in their investigation.
