The Playbook: Lineup locks, Shadow Reports for Week 4

Mike Clay explains why Chase Brown has fallen out of the top 20 running backs in Week 4 of fantasy. (1:37)

Welcome to The Playbook for Week 4, which kicked off Thursday with the Seahawks at the Cardinals.

This column features score projections, over/unders, win probabilities, and, of course, easily digestible fantasy advice for seasonlong leagues and DFS. This guide should help you with all sorts of decision-making, including sit/start, last-minute waiver adds and lineup choices.

Additionally, we have folded the Shadow Reports, previously a separate column, into the game-by-game breakdowns here. Using our play-by-play data, we're able to identify defensive schemes and where each wide receiver and cornerback lines up on each play. By tracking these WR/CB matchups, including potential shadow situations, we can offer the best projections, rankings, sit/start advice and waiver wire suggestions each week.

Tyquan Thornton start or sit: Week 4 fantasy football advice

Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action will continue on Sunday with a battle of AFC powers already in desperation mode as the Baltimore Ravens visit the Kansas City Chiefs at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Chiefs avoided a dreaded 0-3 start to the campaign by downing the Giants in a 22-9 road victory last Sunday night. Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton was integral towards the winning effort and he has stepped up amidst the team’s early-season offensive struggles.

Below, we’ll go over Thornton’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 4.

Thornton had five receptions for 71 yards and a third-quarter touchdown that established some separation for the Chiefs against the Giants last Sunday night. It was the second straight week that that the fourth-year wideout found the endzone and he has certainly been a reliable hand as KC has tried to sort things out offensively in the first month of the campaign.
