Charlie Kirkâs organization, Turning Point USA, continued its national tour of college campuses on Wednesday evening, stopping at Virginia Tech ahead of a pivotal election for the state.
The âAmerican Comeback Tourâ event â headlined by conservative media pundit Megyn Kelly and Virginia Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin â celebrated Kirk and highlighted his affinity to debate with civility.
Youngkin told the crowd that while a sniperâs bullet tried âto silence all of us but you see the exact opposite is happening.â
âThere is a revival spreading across this great nation, a revival spreading across this great nation that is spreading out while it points up to whoâs in charge. This is so awesome,â he said.
Supporters and protesters react to Blacksburg Turning Point USA event
BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – “He has no idea, had no idea who I was either and it just motivated me to get even more involved, make sure I got up here, make sure I was involved in this event and more events going forward as well,” a supporter from Ohio said.
People from as far as Ohio, West Virginia, and North Carolina went to Virginia Tech Wednesday for Turning Point USA’s Comeback Tour, coming exactly two weeks after its founder, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated during the same event at Utah Valley State.
The assassination brought safety at future events front and center, but also inspired others to take action.
