Live coverage: SpaceX to launch 28 Starlink satellites on Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral
SpaceX is preparing for a Falcon 9 launch from Cape Canaveral at dawn on Sunday.
The Starlink 10-27 mission will send 28 Starlink V2 Mini satellites into low Earth orbit. The spacecraft will deploy from the rocket’s upper stage a little more than an hour after the rocket clears the pad at Space Launch Complex 40.
SpaceX is targeting liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 6:53 a.m. EDT (1053 UTC). The rocket will head away from Florida’s Space Coast on a north-easterly trajectory.
Spaceflight Now will have live coverage beginning about an hour prior to liftoff.
The 45th Weather Squadron forecast a 90 percent chance for favorable weather during the Sunday launch window. Meteorologists said there was just a small chance for interference from cumulus clouds thanks to “below average rain chances” this weekend and early next week.
SpaceX rocket launch in Florida: What time is Starlink mission from Cape Canaveral?
A “so Florida” thing to do is coming up this weekend: A SpaceX rocket launch.
SpaceX plans to send a Falcon 9 rocket with several Starlink satellites into orbit Sunday, Sept. 21. And depending on weather and visibility, there could be a show in the early morning sky.
Though rockets here launch from Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral, Florida, an hour east of the Orlando theme parks, it’s possible to see this “so Florida” thing far beyond the launch pad. Depending on cloud cover, weather and visibility, people from Daytona and New Smyrna Beach to Vero Beach and Fort Pierce might see a nice streak in the sky — given the proximity to NASA's Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

SpaceX just sent two dozen more of its Starlink internet satellites to space.
A Falcon 9 rocket topped with 24 Starlink craft lifted off from foggy Vandenberg Space Force Base on California's central coast today (Sept. 19) at 12:31 p.m. EDT (1631 GMT; 9:31 a.m. local California time).
About 8.5 minutes later, the Falcon 9's first stage returned to Earth as planned, landing on the SpaceX drone ship "Of Course I Still Love You," which was stationed in the Pacific Ocean. It was the 10th launch and landing for this particular booster, which carries the designation B1088.
