Nick Marsh injury update: Michigan State star receiver exits game with wrap on knee
Michigan State football's most dynamic player may have picked up an injury on Saturday, Sept. 13, against Youngstown State at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.
Star sophomore wide receiver Nick Marsh was seen on the sideline without his helmet and a wrap around his knee during the second quarter. The Spartans got the ball to start the second half and Marsh was not on the field or visible on the sideline. He did not return to the game.
MSU coach Jonathan Smith said during his halftime interview that Marsh is "working through some things," but didn't add anything else about his status.
Armorion Smith channeling his grief into Michigan State football
EAST LANSING — For the first time in a long time, Armorion Smith can focus on football.

Being a sibling guardian to his four of his younger brothers and sisters. Making sure they are fed and clothed. “I try to keep this motto of, despite how I'm feeling, I have to handle business. And that's just how my mom raised me, because we always went through trials and tribulations,” Smith said after practice Wednesday, Sept. 10. “Like, what are you gonna do when your back's against the wall? How do you handle adversity?

Parent, brother, playmaker: Armorion Smith thrives while fulfilling mom’s dying request
EAST LANSING – Armorion Smith was in coverage just shy of the goal line reading the play.
The Michigan State safety was a split-second late recognizing where the ball was going and couldn’t undercut the throw.
Boston College’s Dylan Lonergan fired a pass above Smith to Reed Harris, who beat Malik Spencer for a 14-yard score and lead just before halftime last week.
Smith hung his head in disappointment but, big picture, it was nothing. A year removed from his mom dying from cancer and him becoming head of the household, Smith knows how to handle adversity that eclipses any challenge on the football field.
