(Nasdaq: OPEN) today announced that Kaz Nejatian, Chief Operating Officer of Shopify, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors. Co-Founders Keith Rabois and Eric Wu are returning to the Board of Directors, with Rabois taking on the role of Chairman.

Shopify Inc. SHOP-T chief operating officer and vice president of product, Kaz Nejatian, is leaving the company, according to regulatory documents filed Wednesday.
The documents filed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said Mr. Nejatian will be departing the company Friday.
Mr. Nejatian arrived at the Ottawa-based e-commerce company in September, 2019, as a vice-president and general manager of Shopify Money, a team that developed various payment systems for the company’s customers. Mr. Nejatian was promoted to chief operating officer in the fall of 2022.
