Roger Waters ridicules Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s music: “I couldn’t care less”

In a recent interview, former Pink Floyd leader Roger Waters has revealed that he was never a fan of heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne.

This comes after various artists have paid tributes to ‘The Prince of Darkness’ following his tragic passing. While plenty of artists have come out of their woodwork to pay their respects, Waters has said that he never cared for Osbourne’s music or any of the material that he made with Black Sabbath.

When discussing the influence that music has over people, Waters brought up Osbourne’s condition around the time of his death, saying to The Independent Ink, “Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his whatever that state that he was in his whole life. We’ll never know. The music, I have no idea. I couldn’t give a fuck.” Waters would go on to air his the “idiocy” that Osbourne showed when working on the reality show, The Osbournes.

Roger Waters wanted ‘more humour’ in Pink Floyd’s The Wall as he says there ‘are no laughs anywhere’

“More humour” was needed for Pink Floyd‘s album The Wall, according to its creator, Roger Waters.

The bassist and songwriter would adapt the album into a film and stage production in the years to follow the 1979 album release, but hoped the latter adaptation would have a better “depth.” An interview with the former Pink Floyd frontman confirmed his desire to bring a more humorous touch to the Broadway adaptation of Pink Floyd’s The Wall. An adaptation had been in the works in the early 2000s and was set to be produced by Miramax, though the project appears to have fallen through. A Broadway adaptation never came to be, and, as such, the humour Waters had promised to write about in the show did not come to light.
