Starting XI | Potter calls on Academy of Football trio for Everton fixture in Chicago

West Ham United Head Coach Graham Potter has put faith in the Academy of Football for Wednesday’s 2025 Premier League Summer Series fixture with Everton.

Potter has named three Academy graduates in his starting XI for the game at Soldier Field in Chicago, with Kaelan Casey one of three centre-backs, Freddie Potts anchoring the midfield and Callum Marshall leading the line.

Potter makes eight changes from the team which started against Manchester United at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday, with Maximilian Kilman, El Hadji Malick Diouf and James Ward-Prowse the three players to keep their places.

Four popular clubs from England's Premier League are in Chicago this week as part of the 2025 Summer Series, which takes place in three cities across the U.S.

The matches take place Wednesday at Soldier Field, with the first game between West Ham United and Everston at 5:30 p.m.. The doubleheader continues with Manchester United against AFB Bournemouth at 8:30 p.m.

Former West Ham and Manchester United players Anton Ferdinand and Johnathan Spector stopped by the NBC 5 studios Wednesday morning ahead of the series, exclusively revealing West Ham's new 2025-26 Third Kit.

"The Oxford Navy Blue shirt reflects the colours of our first jerseys as Thames Ironworks, complemented by a Gold trim, influenced by the Gold Hammers which make up our crest," a release said. "The Kit’s look focuses on the oversized Hammers, replacing the full Club crest on the chest and marking the first time they have stood independently on a West Ham shirt since 1985."
