Guardians, Colorado Rockies series preview, pitching matchups

KANSAS CITY — This is a preview of the three-game series between the Guardians and Rockies that starts Monday night.

TV/radio: CLEGuardians.TV, WTAM 1100, WMMS 100.7 FM, WARF and the Guardians radio network will carry the series.

Probable starting pitchers and start times: RHP Slade Cecconi (5-4, 3.76) vs. RHP Bradley Blalock (1-2, 8.67) Monday at 6:40 p.m.; Undecided vs. RHP Tanner Gordon (2-2, 3.13) Tuesday at 6:40 p.m. and Undecided vs. LHP Kyle Freeland (2-10, 5.24) Wednesday ar 6:40 p.m.

Series: The Guardians went 1-2 against the Rockies in 2024. Overall, the series is tied at 17-17.

After losing the series finale to Baltimore on Sunday they have won four of their last nine games. They have split their last 10 games with the Guardians, while Hunter Goodman leads them with a .281 batting average, 18 homers and 57 RBI.

Rockies visit the Guardians to start 3-game series

(AP) — The Cleveland Guardians host the Colorado Rockies on Monday to begin a three-game series.

Cleveland is 52-53 overall and 25-25 in home games. The Guardians have gone 25-43 in games when they have given up at least one home run.

Colorado has a 13-40 record in road games and a 27-78 record overall. The Rockies are 19-34 in games when they record at least eight hits.

The matchup Monday is the first meeting this season between the two clubs.

TOP PERFORMERS: Jose Ramirez has a .298 batting average to lead the Guardians, and has 20 doubles, two triples and 21 home runs. Angel Martinez is 13 for 41 with a home run and four RBIs over the past 10 games.
