Barcelona will play a preseason game in Japan after contractual dispute with promoter is resolved
BARCELONA, Spain — Barcelona will play a preseason game in Japan that it had previously said was canceled after resolving a contractual dispute with the promoter, the Spanish champion said Friday.
Barcelona said that its team was traveling to Japan where it will play a friendly against Vissel Kobe on Sunday.
The club said that it and the promoter have "resolved all the issues that two days prior obliged Barcelona to cancel its participation" in the game. Barcelona has not named the promoter or given more detail about the dispute.
After Japan, Barcelona also plans to visit South Korea to play FC Seoul on July 31 and Daegu FC on Aug. 4.

Barcelona have confirmed that all issues have been “resolved” regarding their first preseason friendly of the summer in Japan.
Just two days earlier, the reigning La Liga champions revealed that their scheduled friendly against Vissel Kobe had been canceled “due to serious contractual breaches on behalf of the promotor”. Barcelona threatened to bring forward their trip to South Korea, with the club’s vice president Rafa Yuste fuming: “We are not going to Japan because they have not respected the club.”
On Friday morning, the club released an official statement confirming: “FC Barcelona announces that the first team’s soccer expedition is already traveling to Japan to begin the 2025 Asian tour.
